Are you a knowledgeable and efficient payroll officer with experience of dealing with multiple clients? If you are then my client will want to see your details ASAP, as I’m recruiting for one of the leading firms in the region.

The successful candidate for this role will be joining an incredibly supportive and high performing payroll team, with responsibilities to include the following:

  • Working within the team to process a variety of payrolls for clients
  • Acting as a point of contact for a defined portfolio of clients and managing that portfolio effectively
  • Setting up of new client payrolls ensuring all data is ‘clean’
  • Liaising with new clients to ensure they are happy with the service
  • Undertaking customer surveys and taking action to make any relevant improvements to the service
  • Keeping up to date with new legislation
  • Dealing directly with relevant client queries in an efficient and prompt manner
  • Liaising with HMRC around employee payments
  • Inputting and checking starters/leavers declarations, P45s, P6/9s, holiday pay, salaries, worked hours, overtime, expenses, mileage, bonus payments, statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP etc
  • Auto Enrolment reconciliations and assessments
  • Setting up new PAYE schemes with HMRC, plus in-house client files in both electronic and paper format
  • Carrying out RTI year-end procedures, including issuing declarations for client signature and P60s
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role

Applicants should be able to show strong skills in all aspects of end-to-end payroll, ideally within a multiple client environment, though consideration will also be given to candidates who have worked in high volume payroll position within a commercial role.
